It get’s a little bit overwhelming when spring season are here and with so many hype/buzz about spring cleaning, I totally get it. When you hear everyone all talk about it, you may tell yourself ” I guess I should really start cleaning my home than, sigh”.
But don’t worry friend, you are not alone (thank goodness for that)
I get paralyzed really quickly when things get’s too much and with so many information thrown at you, it is easy to give up and do nothing. There are so many things going through your mind : ” Okay, I have clean this and that, oh wait let me work on this room first. Well, this person is doing this or that, I guess i should do that too”. AHH, please stop!
Can I just tell you a secret I have learned? Sure, you can listen and read their story and their advice, but the really secret sauce is what matters to YOU!
The focus should be all about YOU and YOUR HOME! Focus on what makes your family comfortable and happy. What room would make a huge impact if it was clean? Everyone is doing their own thing, and you need to focus on your needs and what your home desperately is waiting for you to do! Someone might start with their bedroom cause it probably needs a lot of attention, but is that the case with you too? I know i know, it is fun to start with a friend together, I am ALL for that! But, it would be better and smarter to focus on your priority and I promise you will feel so much lighter and happier!!
If you don’t know, I have failed BIG in the first 2,5 years of being married and being a mom when it came to organizing and cleaning our home. I’m not going to lie, the first few years was a struggle and overwhelming. With no family around, I struggled where to start and setting my priority’s right. Motherhood has flipped my world upside down and being an organizer I was before that, I no longer didn’t felt that way.. Read my story about motherhood.
So, over the years I have learned to focus on what is the most important room to our family and where everyone spend most their time.
To us it’s :
- Living Room
– Living room, is our most important and most spend time room. So, I know I should start cleaning and organizing their first.
– The kitchen is the second important room for us, well mainly for me as I spend quite a lot in there and the kids come in there too. So I have to make sure it is clean and tidy.
– The Bathroom, Okay we might not spend a lot of time in there but it is a room that is important to us and we want to make sure our little minutes we spend there pleasurable, lol.
Taking the time to figure out where and what is important to our family, it is easy to focus and concentrate on spring cleaning your home. This is such an easy and simple way for me to set my priority’s right without getting distracted.
This could look totally different to you. But take a few minutes to sit down and write a list of what room is most important and need attentions first. What would make a huge impact and simplify your life. If you get lost, Grab this printable to give you a clarity to spring clean your home.
