Setting the right mindset when decluttering your home may seem a impossible thing to do for you, especially when you’ve been in the emotional and mental rut for far too long. It’s hard to shift your mind from being depressed, frustrated and desperate, but you know? It can be done!
You probably been in this rut for a while, or every once in a while this feeling creeps in. You aren’t happy the way your living, you want a change – and you want it now. You want to be able enjoy, relax and be super proud of your home. Not to worry when visitors drops by unexpectedly, but open your door wide open for every one.
And you should!
But somehow.. things are not falling in pieces for you. You don’t know where to start, what to do, how to tune in and get in action. Right now, you feel you lack of a skill or a tool to make it all happen for you.

They say, the home is a reflection of you, but deep down you know this is not the case for you but yet it is. Somehow somewhere along the way, something happened and it got you in this state. No matter what caused it… I am happy to tell you this can change, YOU can change!
It all starts with setting the right mindset.
When your mindset is set in the right direction, everything falls in pieces and step by step you can and will get your end result.
But the trick is or the big question: How do you get there? What Do you Need? What is it that you have to do to get to Point A – to Point B and etc?
These are the steps or stages I personally gone through and helped me tremendously!
1.You have to be sick of it!
I know I know, you’ve probably been so sick of it so many times, and you are probably OVER beyond with being sick of it. But hear me out, when you get to the stage of rock bottom and just completely mad and sick of it – something with our mind suddenly ticks a nerve that change the outlook of how we see things and think. Our mind, attitude and physically we are ready to make a change and get ready into action.
The trick is you need to hit the rock bottom to be absolutely so sick of it that you no longer can’t live this way. So get to your rock bottom – be sick of it – be stinky mad! Look around and see how much you’ve let out of control! Tell yourself this is not normal, this is not healthy – enough is enough!
2. Decide to change
The next stage after you have hit your rock bottom, now it’s the perfect time to decide that you are going to make a change. Decide you are no longer will keep living this way, decide you are going to create a home you can love and be proud of.
Decide that you are no longer be this person, you are now ready to become a better version of you. Decide you are going to start a new book that is written for and about you, you are doing this for the sake for your kids, your husband and most important yourself.
3. Coming to terms
When you are ready to make a change and have decided, it’s time to come to terms of accepting of how far things got out of control. Tell yourself and remind yourself everyday ; ” Fine, things gone out of control, but you know what? It’s not the end of the world! There is still hope and before you know it in few weeks this no longer wont become my reality.
Focus and look into the future and get to work in the present. Let the past remind you that you won’t let this happen again!
4. Start making plans.
In order to make it happen, you need to get prepared and the only way to be prepared is to start making plans. This is my favorite thing to do! Writing in plain paper this gives you such a clear visual to your answers you needed to see – what is that you have to do and what actionable steps you need to do in order to make it happen.
In this post I shared a printable you can download that will help you do that! Make sure you grab the printable! Creating a plan is a crucial step that should not be ignored! I recommend you write in paper as our brain thinks more clearer and thinks better. In order to make it happen, you need to come up with a plan.

What is working
What is not working
– How can you improve
– What are the top three things you can do
– How do you want to feel when you are in a particular room
Remember, no matter what state you are in with your house,it all starts with setting the right mindset. It’s never too late to make a change, no matter how long it will take you, decide you are committed to make it work with an actionable plan that will help you create a home you can fall in love!
