There will come a time in life where you honestly don’t have the strength to organize. It can be very intimidating to see others homes and think: ‘’ This person is SO organized’’. When scrolling through Pinterest, and see all these amazing homes that only leave you thinking ‘’ my home would never look like this’’.
I know I felt that way, and I still do. But.. instead of beating myself up more than I already am, I turn these negative thoughts into something positive.
What do you mean?
Well, feeding myself with those negative thoughts as ‘’ My home will never be organized’’ or ‘’ I am not that good’’ won’t do me any good. It takes a lot of disciplines to block these negative thoughts. Sometimes I fail( I am only a human) and sometimes I succeed.
So what do I do?
Whenever I see something that catches my eyes, I look closely at the details, when I find something I like and I can see it fit into our home, I use that as my inspiration and make it my very own. (duplicating isn’t really a bad thing, just make sure you’re not taking the full credit)
As an example:
As much I love this picture, the container is beautifully stored and organized in a drawer, however this is not the reality in our kitchen.
But what I can do, is to invest a container to store the dried foods and save extra space in our cabinet
You see what I did?
Another great example:
I have also liked these chalkboard labels, but have you seen their price at the stores? They come with a ridiculous price for a few labels of 5.
Fortunately, it didn’t take me very long to figure my next step to get these labels in my hands.
By thinking outside the box, I started to make my very own Custom Labels. It was very easy to make, it’s budget friendly and the best of all you will love it better!

So, how do you find inspiration when you don’t feel like to organize?
Is by far my favourite place to find inspiration that I never would find. There are some clever and talented creative gals and men out there that inspire you and motivate you without a doubt to organize your home.
The Home Magazines today are bigger and better than ever before. Flipping through their pages there is always a tiny detail that will motivate – inspire and bring ideas to work on your home. There are magazines out there that have blogs with tons of solutions and ideas to get you started. My favorites by far are BHG.COM , Housebeatufiul.com, they always help me style my home the way I like.
IKEA is without a doubt the best when it comes to solutions to organizing and storing your stuff. Their design and simplicity will make your home look grand.
Walking through their setups, and going through their tiny details just gives you a brilliant way of decorating your home. I know whenever I walk in there, Ideas start to flow. Wether it’s for the bathroom or bedroom, there is always something that I get idea from and it never fails me. If going Ikea isn’ t an option, their website or their catologs are great too!
It might sound creepy, but I love peeking others home via instagram. There are very talented and creative ladies out there that will inspire you by their creativity and home. Their tiny details or big detail motivates me to run to that space that needed TLC and tidy. I know most of the pictures are always staged but I won’t beat myself up for it and still let the inspiration and creativity in me flow and work on my home.
How do you find inspiration when you don’t feel like to organize?
One more thing:
All these tips I am sharing, are from experience, with a lot disciplines and hard talk to myself.
and one more thing!!
The real danger of everything, is comparing yourself with others, my advice? Just don’t. It won’t do you any good and such a time waste killers. The time you are sulking and comparing you could’ve done those dishes or cleared out your closet 😉
Discipline yourself, and remind yourself.. with one step at a time you get where YOU want to be.
Let whatever catches your eyes inspire you and motivate you to do what’s best for your home.
Happy organizing my friend,
