Are you ready to throw the towel ? Is today the day you decide for a new change? Ready to revamp your life into something meaningful?
You totally should!
I love hearing stories about others who are ready to change and actually become intentional in life. What fascinate me the most is, the complete different attitude and outlook on life. Suddenly, what you actually loved before isn’t that import any longer. What you thought was the best thing for you in life, will be replace to something that actually does make a difference. You are more open about other stuff, and you actually think twice wether that is a good fit for you or not. Totally a grown up thing! And you know what else?? You finally saying NO to stuff that you don’t have time for.
I have to be honest, I have been 1000 x before of throwing the towels. I am a master at this and it is very easy for me to get there.(i always seem to get to the first step) . The one thing I have always struggled is how to get over the other side of doing it while staying consistent. I struggled hard, I couldn’t figure out why it never worked for me. I cried almost everyday, I got depressed, frustrated and tired of being tired.
I remember one day on a Saturday evening, I was listening to a podcast while cleaning the kitchen and something that they have said made me realize, the longer I wait, the more I am missing out on great things that could coming my way. I realized it was me who is blocking her own road, and I needed to move and just GO!
Being intentionally, meant for me choosing being happy, being careful with the choices I make, Take more ‘control’ of life, enjoy while learning life lessons and mistakes. Being more patience, appreciative and god fearing.
I grabbed a pen and paper and wrote all the things that just needed be written on a paper and answered. I was NOT looking for a new chapter, I was ready for a new book of my life.
Below is the questions I used myself and I sincerely hope (pray) it will give you clarity.
Questions to ask yourself when you are ready to become intentional
What is not working for me right now?
Asking and answering this question first is vital! In my opinion this is where you will find out the source of your problems. Finding out what is blocking your way, why your life is this way right this moment. It’s your moment to dig deep and be honest, write everything down until you have written all the problems.
- your bad habits
- materials stuff
- your home
What is working ?
Again, write down what is working? What are you doing right? What should you keep continue doing? If you don’t think anything is working for you right, Think long and hard – it could be the tiniest thing that you are doing well. Also write what you did before that you no longer do,but was working great!
How would my life look like if I got rid off …
Visualizing your future is such a crucial thing to try! Visualize what it would mean if you got rid off the toxic.
- and notice how you feel / your emotions
- your surrounding
- What potentials and opportunity are coming your way
Whatever it is you would like to get rid off, visualize it and remember in the vision how you felt – looked – and how much change/improvement it added it in your life and hold on to it to your journey!
What are my Goals?
Set goals you would like to achieve. Goals that are very important to you and make a huge positive impact in your life.
I always and I mean always recommend to write it down until you’ve finished making your goals. Keep it visual and review your goals every week or twice a month. Write down all the things that are important to you that you would like to achieve and means a lot to you. It could be getting your driver license , it could be losing weight, it could be organized home – getting rid of clutter.
What do I have to do to get there?
This step is where you step up and get real! What are your actionable steps that you have to take to get where you want to be? After writing down your not working list + working great list, you will have great idea what it is that you need to do! example: If you are in debts and your goal is to become debt free. figure out how you want to get out debt and what resources you will find and use to help you get there!
What is my Deadline?
When you are ready to become intentional and have set your goals – it’s a great idea to give you a realistic deadline to motivate you to take action. Be realistic, give yourself a year or 2 years, whatever deadline it is make sure its appropriate and achievable.
